Each week fans have tuned in to watch four young Amish men and women and one Mennonite as they grappled with life in New York City after leaving their communities.
They supposedly experienced a series of firsts — careers, romance and the hard reality that life in the big city is as far as one can get from the farms where they grew up. But since it’s debut, the show has been dogged by accusations — mostly by former members of the stars’ own communities — that the allegedly fresh-faced members of the cast have hid the fact that some once lived outside the closed community, got married, had children and were divorced.
